An Exceedingly Springy Karoo

The black eagle pair that nests on the cliff about 25 km from Matjiesfontein have a baby this year...  Here's mom or dad feeding junior a late afternoon snack :)

& the Matjiesfontein/Sutherland stretch is always littered with pale (en)chanting goshawks.

The Karoo's still ablaze with a magnificent array of spring flowers!

If the flora & fauna all gets a bit much, there's always the incredible geology to try to wrap one's head around.  This dramatic outcrop's about 15 km north of  Matjiesfontein.
